COMMISSIONED work for a friend after he had the house sold.
Where there is Love, there is this place called Home. This will be the last and only glimpse of what this house will look like cos it will be bulldozed to make way for a new one. His parents had been living there for a long time. It must be at least 60 years old or more. There will be lots of memories of good ol'days gone by for him and his brothers from the day they were young playing out there in the garden under the same old tree which has grown so much over the years providing so much shade outdoors. Many a visitor has come and passed by and saw this lovely home.
Even when the physical place is no more, our real home is a spiritual place where we will return to eventually and for eternity. It will be a home we longed to go to cos the Person waiting for us is Someone who has done all He could to bring us there...It will be a place where there will be no more tears, and no more sorrow. What a Homecoming that will be! It is a Home only when we know this Person well enough to want to live with Him throughout Eternity. At times, I am so homesick for this Home that seems so near yet so far...Please come back soon and take us Home...
As the song goes, we may be surrounded by many people, but we are still alone and longing and thinking of our loved ones at home.
Love the lyrics of the song Home written by David Foster and originally sung by Michael Buble, and later Reuben.
I wanted this to be symbolic of a homecoming after being away on a long journey.
Another summer day
Is come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmmm
Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know
And I've been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
'I'm fine baby, how are you?"
Well I would send them but I knowthat it's just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that
Another aeroplane
Another sunny place
I'm lucky I know
But I wanna go home
Mmmm, I've got to go home
Let me go home
I'm just too far from where you are
I wanna come home
And I feel just like I'm living someone else's life
It's like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not
Come along with me
But this was not your dream
But you always believe in me
Another winter day has come
And gone away
And even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go home
And I'm surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel alone
Oh, let me go home
Oh, I miss you, you know
Let me go home
I've had my run
Baby, I'm done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will be all right
I'll be home tonight
I'm coming back home

This I'm sure is a treasure for your friend. It breaks my heart that these lovely old homes are being replaced by buildings with so much less charm and history behind them. This will indeed preserve the good memories.

Belinda, I enjoy looking through these trees and peering into the past, seeing this home preserved for its previous owners. Enjoyed reading your description, Nicely done! L&F

Very beautiful, excellent painting Belinda! vf
Belinda Low replied:
Hello Kume! Thanks so much for seeing the beauty in this piece! A French visitor at my place commented and knew that this was painted live or plein air at the house and he was able to tell which ones were painted outdoor just by looking at the light rendered in the work! I have learnt much from him! :-)
Bev Conover
Lovely!
Belinda Low replied:
Hello once again Bev! Thanks so much for liking this. A French friend of ours commented favorably on this one cos he could tell that it was painted outdoor due to the effect rendered to the lighting. I have learnt a lot from him during his visit to our house this weekend!
