Description
Here, Vincent showed his use of more and brighter colours believed to be influenced by Gauguin when they both lived together in the Yellow House in Arles. I was delighted to do this and wanted to showcase another side of Vincent rather than the usual more popular paintings he did. I leave it to you to decide who these women were when he painted this... It was believed that they were generally those of his mother, his sister Willemien in his letter to his sister, with the maidservant in the background at the flower bed. [Letters 1] hence the younger of the two women is the one in orange and green checks (sister) while the older one has a blue-violet shawl (mother), Info extracted from https://en.m.Wikipedia.org/
