Top Finisher in the "Florals Inspired by Modern Masters" contest held in July 2014.
This is another version of one of Van Gogh's several flowers in a vase series which caught my attention. I blended the colours in two versions - the bluer and the red and combined them together with more of an orange tinge in the main florals. It's one of those days where I felt like painting flowers again cos they just livened up the room and my soul. The title is an analogy of the phrase that life is like a box of chocolates after the movie "Forrest Gump". To me, it's indeed the type of flowers that we choose...

Belinda, this is absolutely beautiful! You did a fabulous job of rendering a likeness to one of Van Gogh's many masterpieces! I love how fluid you made the background look, as if with the sunlight filtering in from the window and shining on this vase of flowers, the colors are coming alive and "melting" together! So lovely!
