This is a my third attempt referring to Van Gogh's Vue d'Arles (with irises and wheatfields) as inspiration. The first one was done in 2013 in Van Gogh Town at Macpherson. The second one was done at the living room at a home. They all look different as my style evolved... That's the beauty of painting! The theme of this project involving 16 columns and two gable walls was on Nature and Greenery. Am bringing the French landscape to a local heartland with including the trees and the houses. This brings back fond memories of my time in Arles when I was there two years ago on a painting trip. It was my second visit and I so miss the place! Looking at this time and again makes me remember the wonderful and beautiful time I had. I am very honored and pleased to be able to put this onto a large scale on a public space to share with the community the beauty of this place.
As there was a butterfly park nearby, I added butterflies fluttering around. As you can see from the other column walls which I have posted, each of the six exterior walls had a big butterfly bringing out the vibrance in the entire space.
