This is the second wall after the first separated by the signature words in Chinese meaning Kreta Ayer which is the name of the precinct in Chinatown. As there is a theatre nearby where Chinese operas were held with live audiences, that it's apt to add the masks and the opera singer (whom I had always wanted to draw her on the wall) and the Samsui woman (wearing the red bandana) depicting her as being happy despite her age. I am glad to be able to add stars to the sky adding a touch of Van Gogh to the overall dreamy night feel.
It was like a dream come true for me cos I got to paint Starry Night after the style of Van Gogh on top and always been a my wish to paint the opera singer on the wall as well. The original was done on canvas and sold.
All these in celebration not only having Covid restrictions lifted but also in celebration as two of my favorite women were painted on the wall! Also in anticipation of the nation's 57th birthday on August the 9th! Moving over to the last bit end of the wall after this are parachuters with jumps done by the Red Lions who start the National Day Parade with a bang every year. This is a highlight to the NDP every year.
The message on these walls is clear - that Life is to be celebrated with its ups and downs. The walls signify Hope and Light at the end of every tunnel after trying, challenging times and years. Let's be Happy and Celebrate Life!
