Description
The Workers' Brigade, formed in 1959 and officially opened by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew on 15 May, 1960, was Singapore's "army without guns" and provided employment, food and lodging to the youth. It was disbanded in 1984. I am trying to do something different these days going with the times and in this technological age, we need to move forward. I was adamant at first about trying to do this digitally, but somehow after some classes and trying out, I am getting to like this more now. A great advantage of using this form of art is that it does away with physical paints, and all you need is just a pencil that comes with the software. I was curious about this and wanted to try it out and see for myself the difference. At first, it was very daunting as I needed to ride over many hurdles both physically in using a different medium as well as the tool itself being so used to the brush! I am quite proud to say that now I am adaptable and able to do using this as well as the traditional way whenever the occasion arises or when there is such a commission that requires this form of art! I tell myself I must not shut myself out and must be open minded about new things as we are creatures of habit and many a time, we are resistant to change. So it is with art...Let's move on...
