This is my second in a series of opera singers. I am takened by their beautiful makeup and vibrant colors in their costumes. I was fascinated by these as a child even tho I didn't understand what they were singing. Those days, we could just pick up a chair and sit out in the open field to watch. The streets were lively with such wayangs (operas) then. A friend of mine suggested naming this Farewell to My Concubine after the movie which starred Leslie Cheung. This movie was the Winner of Palme D'or and nominated or 2 Academy Awards. He was a handsome actor and when he was dressed in drag, he simply looked gorgeously beautiful as an opera singer.
