Our 4-Legged Friends
Kingdom Animalia
The third wall which is my favourite of the 4. It evolves around three dogs that were rescued by the owner. From left to right : Dobbie (mongrel) rescued when he was a puppy found abandoned on a street, Emma (mongrel) was a stray with only one leg due to an accident, and abandoned by its owner, and Heizi (German shepherd from China) which is a retired police dog and if not adopted would have been euthanised. He has come of age and in human years he is 91 years old (ie. 13 dog years). He is immobile now as he is suffering from bad arthritis and has to be carried around. I was overwhelmed with emotion with I was painting them as they are real dogs with a real story to tell. I hope this will bring some kind of compassion to others who are not dog lovers and to bring an awareness to people to think twice before they get a pet. They have feelings just like us humans, they feel the pain too when they get old with age and are sick.
