My first and a study of faces using just the plain old pencil and starting with that of Tony Bourdain, a celebrated chef who has travelled all over the globe and brought us his stories. They brought me there to that place.
The way he presented his travels was different and interesting to the point of them worth being watched. I have seen many eating and travel documentaries but his stood out as they are as simple as they can be just getting down to the people and being at one with them, immersing into their culture. And like he said, having a meal is something that's so basic yet fundamental. He brought meaning to the word 'eat' as a community. And so it is with me here just using a pencil as simple as it gets to try and bring out the man as he is--No airs, very grounded and down-to-earth.
