Images That Excite You
Each time I do a new section of a long wall, whatever I planned sometimes get repainted...like in this case, I happened to see an image from a photograph by chance in FB and liked the perspective. It took me just one morning to get most of it done and two to three sessions of touching up. The idea of using the sign that's already there to represent a bicycle shop came to mind since it's a permanent fixture and it can't be repainted over. The significance of this is that this image was photographed by a British man living here in the '60s and fifty years on because our country is celebrating fifty years of independence this year that it's significant that this is painted. Coupled with the fact that this lane also happens to be the secondary road right next to my office! To the left where the woman is lies the present office building while to the right now is where the Bank of China used to be. Now it's taken over by the Institute of Chartered Accountants. There is another image taken by a resident in the '70s. that confirmed that this is indeed the lane. I trust my small inner voice that tells me to paint certain things and I pray for wisdom and inspiration each time I am thinking of what to paint on the adjourning wall. Thank you for your visit.
