FAA Portrait Gallery
Women Painters
Named after the song by the Beatles, this is the fifth in a series of local women faces that I worked on for the current exhibition that's happening the whole month of November. It is meant to be a roving exhibition showcasing not only visual arts, but also poetry, and live singing before the audience on each opening day. I could acquaint the words with the life of this woman.
I leave to you the viewer to decipher the meanings behind this work. A nanny sworn to singlehood and loyal to one family all her life. What was it like then? and especially after the family has left and she was alone again.
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
