This happens every year on Father's Day! I would look at this and remember him as he was - handsome and my image of him is one of a gentle spirit. He was also a quiet man. Although our times spent was not long, I got to at least remember the rest of the days spent with him until I got married and had a family of my own - we still kept in touch. This I remember that he doted on us girls when we were young. He missed us so much that he came to look for us after we got separated, and that was how we got in touch. I was informed that his great-great grandfather came from Swatow, China and was a very rich man, who then married a few wives including a of malay heritage in Malacca who was the matriarch in her village. That explains for the non-chinese features my father inherited. We are part of the now known as Straits-born Chinese or Peranakans due to the inter-marriage,
