This is an artwork that I started painting plein air right by the pond in Giverny in Monet's garden, but I was shooed off by the guard as je n'ai pas l'authorisation! Didn't know I had to get permission to paint there. I could not resist and contain myself when I was there and thought what a beautiful pond and had to paint (not sketch) on my first visit! The time spent there was in the afternoon, but somehow painted it as if it was evening and I let it remain as that. When I returned home, I either didn't have the time to complete or didn't feel like continuing on with it. Now during the Phase 1 of the easing of the circuit breaker, and while clearing my work leave, I chanced upon this and decided to do it. There are days when you had a 'mental' or a painting block and you just don't feel like painting. But when I get started, I don't stop! I am glad I am able to finish this. It's like getting at least one chip off my back and I still have got others which I will take my time to finish one at a time...This lockdown has taught me to take things easy and slowly and take walks and 'smell the roses' and admire nature around me. We have lovely parks too right here and one near my home. I hope to start on a work depicting that loveliness soon.
