The Gallery Wall
This is my first instalment of a series of woman faces and portraits that I will showcase at an exhibition to be held in November. The theme is heritage and these faces are woman icons who are either no more or less seen and heard today. It's also to empower woman and bring back memories of the days gone when they held a very special place in our hearts. When I was a little girl, these shows were for free. As we could not afford to go to the cinema or theatre, we would carry our own chairs and run to the site to catch the shows. Although I was too young to understand and the songs were sung in mainly Cantonese, I tried to make out the story and just admire the colorful costumes they were wearing. At that very tender age, thinking back now, I was already immersed in all things artistic without realising it...She is finally now with her rightful owner in his new house after having seen her five years ago in an exhibition cum singing collaborative event. She will be a lovely reminder of that event for years to come...
