FEATURED in Excellent Self-Taught Artists, Beauty Captured, Seasons of Beauty and Nature and Landscapes. DESA JATILUWIH, TANANAN, BALI, INDONESIA. This is a heritage place preserved and untouched by modernisation. I was so taken aback by the beauty of the place during my first visit that I told myself I had to paint this. Tis also the fist time I see such a vast area with just nothing but padi all around. In my mind, I saw this as beautiful artwork on a gigantic canvas. I am missing you, dear land and want to return. I hope I can live there for a much longer period of time to immerse with the people and the culture. Each time I see you when I googled, I cried with a longing to come back to you....

Debbie - Thanks for stopping by to look at this. I was sitting and looking down, first at the top of the huts then my eyes were drawan to the vast array of green in the fields beyond...It was a magical moment and place for me to be in - painting it live!
