This was painted on the first day at the site of a public event held at a park last weekend. I did not have time to touch it up at home cos it was sold to a kind gentleman who liked it so much he wanted to bring it home with him. It was my first at such an event and I was felt so honored to be selected as one of four artists to feature and display six of my artwork.
I was totally unprepared for this and thought nothing would sell. He gave me all he had which was not much but I was thinking of the parable of the widow with the mites who gave all she could and did at the temple as an offering. It dawned on me that it's all about the heart and if it's right - no matter how much, it's all worth it. I accepted whatever he had and felt incredibly glad and at peace to know that someone did appreciate this work. The canvas wasn't even stretched and he just took it home feeling happy that he will be able to stare admire this at home whenever he eats his meals in the dining area. I thank this wonderful soul and wish him all the best and much blessings this painting will give him. I felt I had done the purpose for the day and it's to make someone happy which is what contributing with my art is all about really.
